Serves: Makes 4 Scotch Eggs

Cook Time: Fry until golden brown mins

Liven up the humble scotch egg. Delicious with sweet chilli sauce.

  1. Boil 4 Free Rangers eggs in salted water for 10 minutes until hard boiled.
  2. Cool the eggs in cold water and peel off the shells.
  3. Mix the sausage meat, minced pork and spices with 1 raw egg until well blended.
  4. Tip: use fresh chillies for that bit of extra spice if you like it spicy.
  5. With wet hands apt the blended meat into a burger shape.
  6. Sit the hard boiled egg in the middle of the shape and fold the meat around the egg to create a ball.
  7. Firstly roll the balls in flour.
  8. Beat 2 eggs together.
  9. Cover the balls in egg and then roll in the bread crumbs. Do this process twice to ensure an even covering.
  10. Gently deep fry in 1.5 litres of vegetable oil at a moderate heat, until golden brown.


  • 200 G Sausage Meat
  • 100 G Mince Pork
  • 1 Tspn Salt
  • 1 Tspn Chilli
  • 0.5 Tspn Smoked Paprika
  • 2 Tbsp Bread Crumbs
  • 0.5 Tspn Worcestershire Sauce
  • 60 G Flour
  • 6 Free Rangers eggs- medium
  • 1.5 Vegetable oil (Litre)
